    Default Dimensioning Superscript

Typos can be useful, when they generate unexpected results. I've known abput the \P and \X codes that can be used in dimension text, but accidentally hitting an S instead of an X demonstrated that the \S character was a valid dimension code, one that gives a superscript.

Any other ones that you know of?

Doesn't work for me in 2012. Perhaps only under certain circumstances?

huhm,, at the moment I've got 2009 Map running, and the dimension string "<> DRAINAGE\SEASEMENT" puts the EASEMENT as a superscript. that's on an ALIGNed linear dimension.

What type of font are you using? If I had to guess, I would bet that someone created a shape file using those characteristics \S to represent the underscore effect that is going on. It would be interesting to see if you tried the same \S using a True Type font instead of a Shape file and see if it worked them.

\S works for me in Civil 3D 2011, applied text style uses RomanS font.

    I also know of \F, \L, \O, \T, and \W switches.

That wasn't part of your original request:

At least, that's what *I think* this wise man I know (JG) would say.

Interesting. I wonder if these are specific switches for Civil 3D.

The reason I say that is I am running CAD2012 and none of those switches you mention work for me using the RomanS font.

However if I type ~C, it will create a center line label using C and L.

Curious, in deed... I tried your ~C and got ~C (using Civil 3D).

In order for me to get CL (the center line symbol) in my dimension, I had to input \U+2104
