Default Software usage for Lighting Company.

Sorry if this is int he wrong forum but it kinda falls in between.

So the company im working at specializes in outdoor light fixtures that we ourselves manufacture. We've currently been using a combination of Autodesk, Inventor, and Solidworks.
However we've been getting requests from clients that are asking for Revit models as well as renderings.
The issues isnt that no one knows Revit, the question we are wondering is,

If we start off in Revit, and model these light fixtures in Revit can we throw them into Inventor, solidworks and AutoCAD, and vice versa?
Basically, what is the compatibility between the 4 Softwares, AUtoCAD, Inventor, Revit, and Solidworks. are they swapable files?

    Thanks.
P.S. as for the models we would do simple aluminum shades, and column bollards.

I model the items in Inventor and then export to Revit using AEC Exchange. This may help:
