Default How to change Ceiling Fixture to Roof-mounted fixture?

I molded my ceiling using a roof (so that I could use more than one slope). Now I want to place some ceiling-mounted fixtures into my model. Is there an easy way to change a ceiling-mounted light fixture so that it will attach itself to the bottom of the roof?

not really. you can cut and paste geometry into a new roof based family, but you'll have to redo the parameters. There has been a lot of discussions on this if you search the forum...

Thanks for the replay. I guess I'll remake the roof to be an actual ceiling.

I don't know if this helps... but I made a roof that is concrete (pre-cast planks) and is exposed on the underside with no ceiling. I created a ceiling type using the "Basic Ceiling" and assigned the "Material" layer to "Finishes-Interior-Paints and Coatings" set to "Accurender/Solid Colors/Clear Sealer" and set the height to the under side of structure/roof. I was then able to place lights. As far as your ceiling with multiple slopes... I guess you could make a ceiling panel for each of the sloped areas?

Thanks for the information. I'll have to try that later. I ended up just making a number of different ceilings and then joined them together.
