Over the weekend our network crashed. I was out of the office the last couple of days and unreachable. When I returned I was blind sided with the fact that many, not all, of our custom tool palettes which reside on a network drive no longer had the associated images.
Some of the palettes had their images.
Some of the palettes had empty image boxes.
Some of the palettes had nothing at all.
The palettes that had empty image boxes were functional in the sense that if you clicked on the box you were able to insert the associated block.
The palettes with the empty boxes allow me to right click and restore the image.
The palettes with nothing at all have nothing to right click.
I can remove the offending palettes one by one(is there a way to more than one palette at a time?).
I can re-import the palettes one at a time. Again, is there a way to import many at once?
Strangely, some users lost some palette images, while others did not but lost images the aforementioned user did not.
More questions:
Why would a network crash cause this?
How can I prevent this in the future?
This happened on AutoCAD versions 2013 and 2010.
We are using both Windows 7 and XP Pro operating systems.
It is a Windows network. Don't know much about it because I am the CAD Manager but not the IT guy.
I greatly appreciate all input.
One more thing. It just occurred to me that I should mention that no users have admin privileges on there local systems. However, I do, but not on the network.
