    Default Rendering Walkthroughs

Is there a way to Render walkthroughs in Revit 2013? I've looked online and in the help for Revit, but couldn't find anything. Or is this something to go on the wishlist?

I think the OP may have been asking about rendering each frame-by-frame of a walkthrough to have it look more realistic, as opposed to just a hidden line or shaded walkthrough.

Revit may be able to do it, but it's not really the best tool for that. I think it would take an extremely long time. A decent interior rendered view with lights can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on computer horsepower, then multiply that by 300+ frames of your walkthrough. You get the idea. Not sure if ADSK 360 would be able to do such a task in the cloud, though it would be much faster if it could. However from what I've seen the 360 rendering uses a different engine and as such lights and materials look a bit different (not as good).

I think something like 3DS Max would be better suited to that task, although I know nothing about using it. I do know that it can take advantage of multiple computers networked together, a "render farm" as it's termed.

Here's a walkthrough I did purely with Revit. Is this what you're talking about?
I'm very new to Revit so it needs tweaking, but yes, you can do a walkthrough like this with Revit.

Agreed Patricks, 3DS or similar, maybe lumion is worth a look. Yes, 300 frames @4.8min/frame=24hrs. ive done a couple this way, slow and tedious.

*Facepalm. Sorry Everyone, When I posted this I forgot the most important word. I knew you could render walkthroughs through the export option like Gordons.68934 said. What I meant to ask was "Is there a way to render walkthroughs in the cloud, because yes it is taking forever to render it in Revit. Sorry!

Anthonius that rendered walkthrough looks pretty nice, but as you showed at the beginning, 2 1/2 solid days to render that is insane!

Plus I believe 3DS Max can do animated stuff, like have doors open as you walk through the doorway and stuff, people moving, walking, etc.

No way to do it in the cloud. Yes, 3DS is much better, and now included in the Building Design Suite! You can have your doors open in your models, just edit the family. Pro Tip: do the renderings overnight by range of frames: 1-100, 101-200, 201-300, then stitch them together in Movie Maker or Premiere.

Last one I did which wound up to be a little over 3 minutes long....I hijacked as many computers as I could each weekend to do the above...Think I had about 12 computers rendering at a time...
