Default Revit 2014 installed on Microsoft Surface Pro?

Has anyone tried installing Revit 2014 on a Microsoft Surface Pro (Windows 8 Pro x64) successfully?
We are having trouble installing the ".net framework 3.5 sp1" on it.

Looking at the hardware, I'm not certain that class of device is even suitable for running Revit. An 800lb gorilla program requires more than a bare bones system to function. Do you *really* need that level of portability?

Our IT support say the video card is inadequate to run Revit on the Microsoft Surface Pro. On a related note, our users have been quite satisfied running Revit Architecture 2014 on Citrix from the Microsoft Surface Pro.
