    Default stair, multistory

    Hello,

I got some problem with the stair. I placed a stair in the model. The modelled building consists of 3 floors (ground-, 1st & 2nd floor). The defined basic steel stair has 20 treads (from ground floor up to 1st floor). The floor height of 1st and 2nd arn't same. 1st is 3900+ and 2nd is 3550+ (see attached pict. elevation.jpg).

    Questions:
    1. If I select the function "multistory top level" to 2nd floor, I got the warning that revit doesn't make/copy the stair to 2nd level, because the last threads of the stair end at another level. And I don't see then the stair to 2nd floor . How can I fix that?

    2. If I select the "mutistory top level" to top of the roof, revit can do it (surprising). of course you can see that the landing of the stair will not be placed at the 2nd floorlevel. But now I see that the connection between the landing and the stair doesn't run smoothly (see 3D.jpg and elevation.jpg). How can I fix that?

The multistory top level only works if all the floor heights are the same. It is a fancy, built-in array tool just for stairs: it basically just copies what you draw on the first floor to upper levels. If the floor heights change, you have to draw separate stairs at each level.

Level 1 at 3900+, you'd need 20 treads @ 200 risers (I assume this is what you're using if you)
    Level 2 at 3550+, you'd need 18 treads @ 200 risers

It's correct. 20 treads for the level 1 and 18 treads for level 2. :P

But if I place the new stair (with 18 treads) on the landing. They (the stringer of the stair & the landing) would not joint into 1 stringer. what I get to see, is the result in the pict (see 3D from 1st post) ) Visually it looks awful.

    How can I fix that?

In 2d orthographic drawings, I normally use fill regions and whatnot to fix it. Not a satisfying solution, but it works.

In 3d, I don't know. Model in-place the missing pieces? I don't have a good solution for that.
