RHS/SHS beam with edge plate

hi guys,
I have to use RHS/SHS beam with edge plate to support a slab, but I could not find such beam in Revit Structure and Robot. I have attached a picture of it. Is there any way possible to use such a beam, so both Revit and Robot recognise it.

I don't know how well custom profiles transfer from another program to another, usually I have encountered some problems. But if you need to calculate that kind of profile, I would model it in Robot without that edge plate and analyze it as standard RHS/SHS beam. If you need to consider stiffening caused by that edge plate then my first choice would be calculate by hand sectional properties of that section and then choose heavier standard RHS/SHS profile that has same sectional properties. That way you get displacements quite right in RObot calculations but section verification you have to do by hand calculations.

You can use the section builder in Robot (Tools>Section Definition...) to create this custom built-up shape. Robot is quite adept at handling built-up shapes and it's not hard to add the shape to the database for use in a model. I've attached a couple images showing this type of section created and analyzed in section builder and also added to a model. (This was just quickly done for demonstration purposes, not rigorously). As far as I know there is no way to indicate exact location of welding which connects the sections together so there is still work for you to do in terms of chasing the loads through the section and ensuring that the welds are sufficient for the applied loads but Robot can help with overall section properties.
