    Default concrete shear walls

    Hello All

I was wondering if anyone has done concrete shear wall elevations in revit structure. I have my model done and the walls partially modelled with the reinforcing. I need to do a shear wall elevations indicating the rebar size and spacing. I am having trouble trying to get the tag to work.

Can someone direct and/or help me in the right direction

I have included a sample of what I am trying to achieve in the attached jpeg or would I be better off exporting the views and creating it in cad.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards,

    Kevin

there are 3 different ways to place reinforcement, and tags that work only with each of these ways.
If you have already placed your reinforcement you will only be able to use the tag for that method.

the area or path method of rebar placement for would be the best method for walls.
also the tags and symbols would almost match your jpeg of AutoCAD Drawing.
but you would need to copy the out-of-box area or path tag and modify a bit, for exact match. this could be a problem.
and change Revit Reinforcement Settings for notation of face placement for area and path.

the area placement method will place rebar on both faces and both directions.
the path placement method is for one layer and one direction.

There is also other reinforcement tags that you can use to show rebar spacing if you did not use area or path method.
but these do not have symbols to show extents of rebar.

Other last option would be to use dimensions, then pick the dimension text and edit to show rebar size and spacing
this would give you dumb text and not a smart tag that would update if changed.

I see from Autodesk Web Site that Revit 2014 has added new ways to tag rebar and other improvements for reinforcement.

Here's an examples of what I've done in revit.
