    Default Managing the auto updates with 60 users!!!???

    How do I control those pesky messages from AD360, ACAD, ADexchange, well all products? You know the ones... "There is a new update for _____." "Install it immediately or your computer will explode."

    I want to distribute updates to everyone and not have them call me individually "Letting me know" there's an important (to them) update.

    I'm about to roll out the 2014 software and would LOVE to control this better.

    Thanks in advance!

    I'm not a swamp member. I do have the AcadInfoCenterOff.msi for 2012.
    Is there one for 2014? I would rather just like to manage those incessant messages.

    I'm sure Owen's offering is great (I've not used that utility before myself), but we're talking about a registry entry... I could have sworn that guests could still read/view the thread contents even if not a member.

    In any event:

    You are working in a secure location and you do not want the system to connect to the internet. You would like to disable the Communication Center.

    Solution
    You will need to open Regedit and search for InfoCenterOn. You will need to change the value from 1 to 0.

    Windows 7

    linky

    Code:
    (vl-load-com)

    (defun c:InfoCenterOff ()
      (princ "\rINFOCENTER: ")
      (princ
        (vl-registry-write
          (strcat
            "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\"
            (if vlax-user-product-key                                       ; If 2013
              (vlax-user-product-key)                                       ; Use 2013 function
              (vlax-product-key)                                            ; Use legacy function
            )
            "\\InfoCenter"
          )
          "InfoCenterOn"
          0
        )
      )
      (princ)
    )
    ... More on vlax-User-Product-Key.

    ** Edit - You may want to close and open a new session for the GUI components to actually be removed. If that can be done within the active session (without closing, reopening), I am unsure how to accomplish this via LISP.

    ** Edit - I originally referenced Tony above, due to re-reading Kerry's reference to TheMaster, which was one of Tony's avatars over at TheSwamp... Rightly so, it's been brought to my attention that the MSI mentioned above is from Manusoft (read Owen's). Post corrected.

    Sorry for any confusion.
