    Default Paperspace Dimensioning

I am trying to dimension pipe pieces for fabrication. I set up multiple vps and have each respective piece in a vp in the plan view.

When I pull a dimension across the piece, it comes out as reading 1/2" when in reality it should be 5'.

I've searched high and low across many websites and forums and cannot find an answer to this. One suggested to set DIMASSOC to 2, which it already is. Theres also a school of thought, that one should dimension in model space. Since I am dimensioning multiple pieces and showing in plan, elevation, and iso view, putting them in ms, doesn't make sense. I'd have to put every single dim on a separate layer.

The problem appears to be the dimension is not associative. I've tried to create a new DIMSTYLE, but that doesn't help.

I have my vps set to 1/4" scale.

    Any suggestions?

It's simplistic and it seems like there's a better way to do this but you can just change the DIMLFAC variable to your multiplier (i.e. if 5' =1/2" than 60/.5 = 120 so set DIMLFAC to 120) You could also try the DIMREASSOCIATE command to try to get the dimension to become associative again.
