Software: AutoCAD 2012
Recently I have been working on a way to automate plotting. I've set it up to a point where the user can generate a layout that has everything set up in terms of plotter type, paper size and a specified plot area. I have 3 different plotters on my list which include two physical plotters and one PDF. Basically what is happening is that when I generate a layout, say for an 11 x 17 PDF, if I want to change the plotter to physically print it, the paper size changes. I know this is mainly happening because of the current default paper size settings in the .PC3 file. What I am wondering is if there is a way to bypass the "default" options stored in the PC3 file so when the plotter is changed the paper size will stay the same no matter what plotter is selected.
UPDATE: When I checked options "keep the paper layout size if possible" was checked, but when I actually checked the PAPERUPDATE command it was set to 1. Setting this to 0 fixed the issue.
