    Default Pipe Stress Analysis

I have been looking and I can't find any clear information. How does everyone else run pipe stress analysis tests from Revit? Is there a good software that I can export right out of Revit and into the program? Everything I have seen incorporates .PCF files. Does anyone create a pipe schedule and export that as a .TXT file and use that in a program? I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how I can give my X.Y. and Z in a schedule. I can do length and invert elevation but not an x,y,z. Any help would be great!

Using Autodesk Fabrication 2014 CADmep, users can export from Revit, open in CADmep, and export a .PCF file. Not the most streamlined flow, but it's there.

    Hello Tom,

Have you had success with this workflow? I am looking at doing the same thing. Are there any issues to watch out for? What information out of Revit are you able to transfer down to the .PCF files?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I do not use this method as I never need to run stress analysis. Sorry, I was just offering one option that could work.

    Hello,
tfullerpipes recommended export from revit : open in CADmep : export to PCF. checkstress - 1st level pipe stress software can import PCF files (from many other 3d sw too). Try it. I downloaded from cadpipestress.com, it kinds of works free. And exports to caesar and its own, caepipe. Let me know if it works for you. Thanks for the tip - tfullerpipes.
