Hey Guys, is there any way to make 3D sweep path, like in the example, I want to connect the two circles by a tube. Thanks

    Firt off, this isn't a 2011 rvt file - it's 2013

One option to create a 3D sweep is by building geometry, and picking the path (see attached example). If you want to get fancy, use reference lines, and voids.
    - Reference geometry is set to glass for easier viewing.

As a side note, I once created a coiled telephone cord like you see on those old finger-dial phones. In doing so, that added about 1.4Mb to a 260Kb file. I kept trying to reduce the number of twists/coils thinking I did something wrong but eventually conceded to a straight cord. If file size is an issue, keep that in mind. I find that 3D sweeps with even small geometry can dramatically increase file size. Anyone else find this?

It's the curves that Revit isn't happy with - something about the engine always trying to calculate each and every curved line. To which I'm sure Revit had a fit, when you tried your coil lol

There was an awesome blog-post a couple of years back, where the author nailed LOD on the head. He was talking about how some guy actually used 3D text, to create the logo of a stove top. Ultimately, it boils down to the industry you're making the family for; AV companies seem to love the extra detail, while system-works companies (HVAC, plumbing etc) want almost a generic piece.
