Creating surface profile over Pipe location that is shown in centerline profile

I would like to have the surface profile I am showing in my profile grid reflect the actual surface over the path of my pipe design.

the only way I can figure to do this is to create an alignment for both the C/L of the road and another alignment for the pipe path.

Then I also need to create 2 separate surface profiles,
and then superimpose the pipe surface profile onto the centerline profile.

This basicall double my work load.

Does anyone have a better solution??

I think are correct. You have to create the second alignment and profile then superimpose it onto your first. Probably make the style for your pipe alignment as a no display.
