Default Revit 2013 True North and Project North Toggle

Hi. I've encountered a problem trying to get Revit 2013 to toggle between true north and project north. It appears that once I set true north in any plan view, project north is also set to the same orientation as true north and toggling between the two does not change anything. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

This means you haven't set up your true north. First change one view to True North, then you need to click on MANAGE>POSITION>Rotate True North. True north should follow the surveyor north arrow.

After much experimentation, I rolled back all changes that I made (I should have mentioned that I have taken over an existing file) to see what happens if I simply switch between orientations in the properties before messing around with MANAGE>POSITION. When I first toggle to True North view, the orientation changes but subsequent to that, toggling between True and Project north does not change the orientation.

***A heads up that I moved this from BIM Management forum to the Revit Platform forum.***

I would recommend starting with 2 separate views. One set to project north, the other set to true north. Tile these 2 views so you can see them both at the same time.

Next, for both views, go into visibility graphics and expand the Site category. Turn on Project Base point and Survey point.

Select Project base point first, ensure that it is clipped. Do the same for the survey point.

Then in the view set to true north, try rotating your true north.

Thanks Steve. Your suggested workflow helped us to isolate the problem: someone rotated the viewports to setup view orientations in lieu of adjusting the coordinate system.
