Default Adding "nodes" to wire frame

I want to add more "wire" (beam lines) to a work frame. I assume that I must add "nodes" to the wires on the wireframe to draw the new wires. Will someone please explain how to do this as I have not found "a how to" in the help files?. I assume that after adding nodes that the Draw a Line function will be compatable with ASD profile and connection functions. Is this correct?
    Thanks for your reply.

did you figure it out.....I've had good luck just drawing more lines on the workframe layer where I needed them, then snapping profiles to them
