Default AEC walls with center line component

I've created aec walls with a center line component to facilitate snapping dimensions to the center line of walls. The component is a single line (really an object with no width). Is is on a no plot layer and works fine. The only problem is that because the object has no width, I can longer modify end cap profiles. Any suggestions to get a visible center line in a wall style?

Adding a zero-width component appears to disable the ability to edit the Wall Endcap in place. You can still create a new Wall Endcap Style that works with your modified Wall, assuming that the added center line component has created a problem with the previously assigned Wall Endcap Style. (TIP: If you can live with the new center line component at the end of the list of components, the previously assigned Wall Endcap Style will not be affected by the added component. If you want the center line component to appear in "order" with the other components, then you will likely have to create a new Wall Endcap Style.)

You can do that without starting from scratch by using the WALLENDCAP command, and choosing the as Pline option, and then choosing the Wall Endcap Style that is assigned to the Wall to which you added the center line, the defining polylines for that Wall Endcap Style will be inserted into the drawing at a point of your choosing. You may have to rotate and or separate them, but you can use these polylines to define a new Wall Endcap Style. Create a new one in the Style Manager, and then right click on the new style name and choose the Set From option. Select each polyline and assign it to the appropriate wall component, by the Index Number of the component. The zero-width component and any components that can finish squarely and do not need to project to match the extension of any wrapping components do not need a polyline, the others will. This is the "old school" way of creating a Wall Endcap Style - if you are not familiar with that, post back and I will try to find time to explain the process in more detail.
