Question Automatically scaling block with FBk import?

    Hello all,

Without searching all 106 pages of posts... Has there been discussion in the past about scaling blocks such as a tree based on size-automatically?

I have X differnet tree types, X different size, How do I get them to scale based on their trunk size
We are using the FBK file, example would be:
    $0= type
    $1= trunk size
    $2= inch or foot
    ...
    F1 VA "439" 14.07095 151.40708 90.17292 "OAK 24 inch"
    !Offset values: 2.50000 0.00000 0.00000
    F1 VA "440" 33.37066 98.85961 92.34067 "OAK 36 inch"
    !Offset values: 2.00000 0.00000 0.00000
    F1 VA "441" 43.43261 68.88829 95.49257 "OAK 31 inch"
    !Offset values: 4.00000 0.00000 0.00000
    F1 VA "442" 82.20146 56.26613 100.13212 "TREE 24 inch"
    F1 VA "443" 86.51485 47.12786 101.41508 "WELL OPEN SHALLOW"
    F1 VA "444" 84.56593 47.15345 101.44043 "Pine 18 inch"
    F1 VA "445" 86.53220 45.38144 102.11338 "Pine 16 inch"
    F1 VA "446" 89.10175 46.86342 101.48211 "Pine 10 inch"
    F1 VA "447" 86.52074 48.96386 101.21053 "HOLLY 12 inch"
    F1 VA "630" 22.40072 132.86852 90.41353 "CREPE 12 inch"
    F1 VA "631" 20.57488 113.01265 90.47434 "CREPE 8 inch"
    ...

I have all the desc keys, blocks, etc, set up and it work just fine. I just want to scale/size the tree blocks automatically, based on the trunk size, so that the blocks represent a tree size closer to what it is, instead of them all being about the same size. Then manually having to go in and change the scale size of each block.

Or am I asking for too much?

You can do this in the Description Key set. There is an option to scale based on a specific parameter. The parameter is selectable.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

Have the field crew leave "inch" off, serves no purpose.
Set "Scale Parameter" to "Parameter 1"
Set OAK "Format" to "$1" Oak"
Once "OAK 24" is imported it will be scaled up 24× & description will be 24" Oak

Also, for any code that uses a scaling parameter, the units have to be consistent. They cannot be mixed - some inches and some feet. You can use feet as units for one type of code and inches for a different type, but there is no way to determine the units on the fly.
