Default MEP Model Breaking in Civil3D

I am attempting to bring a building model that I created in MEP into Civil3D to be placed on its' site for rendering images. The building model is signifcantly larger than the actual site in Civil3D. When I attempted to scale or use the ALIGN command to match the building to the site it seems to be breaking my walls (see image attached). Has anyone seen this before or have any idea what may be happening?

It sounds like a difference in units between the MEP model and Civil 3D.
