Attach Space Parameters to Electrical Objects

Summary: Make "Space Parameters" attach to electrical recepticals, electrical equipment (paneboards & switchboards), lighting fixtures, wall switches etc.

Description: We need to be able to extract a "schedule" of electrical devices indicating what floor the object is installed, what space or room the object is installed in and possible what type of wall a device is hosted to. Using AutoCAD MEP, this is possible but not Revit unless I am missing something here. We need to be able to extract geographic space information from each electrical element the Revit model and then schedule them to be palletized for delivery to the specific room where the devices are to be installed. In the case of wall mounted receptacles, having the wall type attach to the receptacle will determine what type of internal wall support brackets are needed for the "assembly".

The relationship is reversed in Revit. You create a Space schedule and then use an embedded schedule to add a schedule of electrical equipment or one for devices. The formatting of the resulting schedule is still pretty crude. It would be better if Revit was able to generate what some call Room Data Sheets. There are other applications that help tap into Revit to extract and report such info like CodeBook, dRofus and others. You can even use Revit, Word/Excel and Mail Merge.
