Question Differentiating between front and back views - detail items

    Hi everyone!

A question that I hope will be quite simple - I have a simple car family with a basic low-poly 3d model, for 3d views, and some more detailed orthographic views (detail items) for where the car is viewed in elevation / plan. At the moment the detail item I've inserted into the 'back' elevation view also displays in the 'front' view - I want to replace this with a different detail item representing the front of the car, but I can find no visibility setting to differentiate between the two (I've tried help / google but to no avail). Any ideas how to have different detail items for each?

    Cheers.

    Welcome.
This isn't an automatic fix, but you could set up a visibility instance parameter to show/hide the front and back views.

You may also find it easier to use a nested family for the linework for the front and back elevations, so that you then only need to select one object and tie its visibility to the visibility parameter(s) suggested by Damon. (Unless, of course, "detail items" means you already have done so, in which case, ignore this post.)
