Default 2014 running slow on NVIDIA Quadro 2000

So, I have started at a new company and they are using revit 2014.
I have discovered that its snail pace slow on this machine, and after doing a bit of research I see that my system specs put me around mid-range recomendations from Autodesk.
    16gb Ram, Xeon CPU E5-1620 0 @ 3.60 GHz
and as the title suggests, using an NVIDIA Quadro 2000 card.

As far as the recommendations go, system specs should not be a problem but that being said, Revit is running very slowly, often gets a bit glitchy with the screen redrawing and blocking out the top half of the window (until I minimize and maximize the window) and turning and navigating a large model is slow, drawing & modelling is close to the point of un-workable very slow and frustrating.

Anyone else had similar problems, know a way to optimize or reduce it, or have any suggestions??

Reached about the limit of my knowledge on the matter and I have not been able to find much on the topic that has helped me out.

This would probably be better off in the Revit boards (they have a dedicated hardware one to boot). All I can suggest as a non-Revit user is to ensure patches and hotfixes are properly applied and proper work procedures are being followed.

I started to have issues with the Quadro 2000 at Revit 2013....I upgraded to a GTX 680 and Revit ran a lot smoother. The Quadro 2000 is pretty outdated now. I recommend upgrading to a GTX 700+ card or the Quadro K2000's...

I'm running dual cards at home on one machine Quadro K600 and 600. Smooth as butter. On the other computer I have dual K4000's and they are awesome beyond belief.

Running a GTX 760 (only) at work. Some glitchy things here and there, but nothing major.

The original Quadro 2000 may not pair as well with the later Xeon E5 processors I've heard. Actually I have the E5-1620 on the computer I'm on now w/ a GTX 760. Revit runs pretty darn well. 100mb to 180mb models.

    FWIW -

I just recently ordered my new Dell workstation, and am thrilled with the performance (processing & graphics)... Using 3GB NVIDIA Quadro K4000.

check your processor affinity and section CAD off to 2 physical cores as it is a dual core app.
