    Default Overhead Door Offsets

How would I create an overhead door with no jamb that sits on the inside of the 5 7/8" ext. wall? I cannot figure out how to control the overhead door offsets.

    Thanks

In your Door Style, give the frame component a negative value for the frame width. That will set the frame on the face of the Wall to which it is anchored.

Thanks. This suggestion does get me a much closer look however when I drag the door into the palette and reinsert it, the door is located in the center of the wall.

I am not seeing that here in either ACA 2010 or 2014. The door tool's properties do not have a setting for "Position Within", so there cannot be a setting there that is forcing the door to be centered in the Wall.

Was your door style source drawing saved at the time you made the tool palette tool? Did you make the tool from an instance in the drawing, or directly from the Style Manager? If the former, was that door set at the face of the Wall?

Making the offset style based is a good idea if the jamb offset is consistent for multiple doors in the same project or for multiple projects. If you're just looking for a one-off then use "reposition within wall" from the door's right click menu. Then click on the red line that corresponds to the point on the door you want at the edge of the wall. Then click on the edge of the wall and enter '0'.
