Cool Binding a Raster image to .dwg?

Hi all, New member as of today. I just have a simple question and was wondering if anyone can help me.

Basically I have 10 pic's that I would like to attach (Raster Image Reference) to a .dwg and was basically wondering if there is some kind of function that will bind the pic's to the dwg, e.g. the Xbind command for Xrefs. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am currently running AutoCAD 2008, have 2009 installed but have been too lazy to try it out. My friend also asked me this question and he runs AutoCAD 2007.

Thanks in advance for your help, and I am very happy to meet you all...

    Welcome to AUGI Lester.
I moved your thread to the general acad forum. The tips forum is not for asking questions, but posting useful tidbits.

As to your quesion, without Raster Design 2008, there is no way to make the raster a native acad object. The only way to mix the files is with OLE embedding. The raster info is stored directly as binary information in the file header.

Sure. Not exactly in the same way that you "bind" an xref, but in ways where the image becomes part of the DWG nevertheless....

    As for binding , here's a solution I found.
    1. Remove/delete your referenced image, and it's entry in REFERENCE MANAGER.
    2. Open the image in a graphics program that will allow you to 'select all' (this is important, don;t gloss over it).
    3. Select All to capture your image.
    4. Copy to clipboard.
    5. Open AutoCAD, then paste (CTRL+V). Now resize it to fit back where your referenced image used to be.
    6. Yes, it may look fuzzy. Yes it may print fuzzy too. No, you can't do much else about it, it's an OLE, what you want, 'embedded'.
    7. Turn off it's frame using OLEFRAME or FRAME variables (0 or 2).
