Default CUTTING HOLES IN A 'PROFILE' AND 'EXTRUSION' GENERATED WALL

I have created a wall in Revit using a Predefined Sweep Profile and then Extruding it. I set the category for the Extrusion to 'Wall'
and the resulting Wall will allow me to insert doors and windows into it. However if I want to cut any other geometry into it
REVIT will not allow/doesn't appear to provide ways for me to do so. Any ideas how to set about this or do Extrusions generally
not allow themselves to be 'randomly' [ie:- not doors and windows] cut into?

    Welcome on your first post.

So you created an In-Place Component, right? To cut other holes in it, edit the component and add extruded (or swept or whatever) voids. If when you create them they intersect the solid geometry, it will cut it. If you create the void geometry off to the side, then move it to intersect, use the Cut tool to make the void cut the solid.
