Default Revit Server link load times

We are trying to increase the loading times when using linked models. Our Revit Server is running on a connection that has enough bandwidth and almost zero latentcy. When opening models they open quickly, but when we are loading linked models they seem to load very slowly. We keep the size of linked models to a minimum and place all links on their own worksets to have better control over how they load. Does anyone have any good tips when linking models to allow for the links to load as fast as possible. The projects we are involved with keep getting larger and more complex and the only way we can complete this project is with multiple links.

Are the linked model also on Revit Server? Or, are they on a network file share?
