Default an unnamed file contains an incorrect path

    error message.jpg

Anyone else ever get this error? googled it and for the most part appears to be an inventor issue. it's when the path + file name is longer than 128 characters?

My problem is this in Revit MEP, not inventor and all my linked files are much shorter than 128 characters.

do you have a lot of or long named folders these are pathed to? it might be using full path. maybe change them to relative or put them in the folder with your revit file and remove paths

Perhaps a linked file has a linked file as attached that you don't have?

It's probably this. That's not the error I got when it happened, but it's similar. Was a few years ago now, so predates my collection of hilarious error message screen grabs.

Long Path Tool could help you to sort out this issue

I just received the same error. I saved my local copy, closed the project, reopened from my local file and SWC. It seems to have fixed the issue.

Is your link saved as the central file? Try opening the link and see if the usual "detatch from central" or "create new local" choices are greyed out. If so, it might prompt you to save as the central file permanently or just make it that way for your current session. Picking the permanent option might solve the problem
