Default Structural Beam Tag with number of studs

So... my boss wants to show the beam tag for a framing member with the studs below the beam and the appropriate number of studs between the beams, instead of just the number of studs behind the beam size. I've attached an image below of how he wants it to look. I doubt there is any way to do this, but I told him I would look into it.

You could add shared parameters like Studs Span 1, Studs Span 2, Studs Span 3 etc. Then use separate tags with each parameter assigned to a label. For each beam you'd enter 16 for Studs Span 1, 3 for Studs Span 2 etc.

This way you'd have control, over the exact placement of each span's studs qty and it would be associated with the beam.

How advanced is your model? I always prefer my tags to be automatically generated by the family, otherwise you may as well just use "text"
If it were me, I would model in the studs and create a shared parameter (no. of studs) which can be tagged
This way, what is represented in your model is always correct to what is displayed on your drawings or vice versa

Add a shared "stud" parameter as a "text" Instance parameter to your beam family and your tag. Add a label to your tag family to return the "stud" parameter.
This method assumes you call out total number of (W18x35 [44]) vs the comp girder style (W18X35 [23,4,23]).
If you like that latter, Steve's method may be better. We just use one parameter and enter them differently. Details tell you where the studs should be placed based on how they are called out as well as if it's a girder vs beam.

    Edit:
If I were a fabricator, I might think about modeling studs. In the construction design industry, there's no need. Notes work just fine.
