Hatch Pattern

I downloaded certain roof tile hatch pattern from google search, saved it in various folders or subfolders, the file is fine (not corrupted), when I open ACAD 2011 and try to select it, I cannot find it; I type or select HATCH command, it won't give me an option to type the path for the xxx.PAT that I downloded..
any idea how I can add the downloaded hatch pattern to the other hatch patterns menu that came as a default with the Autocad software, so I can select it when needed to hatch a certain area??
