Default Model dimensions not available in drawing

I have a model (IPT file) which does not seem to send dimensions to a drawing (DWG file).

The Tolerance for the bore dimension does not show.
I cannot get a dimension for the length of a rib.

Can someone please tell me why not?
    Thanks

For some reason the IPT file will not upload. I'll try on another posting.

You can download a version of the drawing here, but you will have to rename it (taking out the underscores) to get it to correspond to the drawing.

Sorry about the hassle, but I cannot get the file to upload normally.

I was able to retrieve the dimensions. Since this is a revolution, however, the dimensions will only display correctly in those views which are parallel to the revolved sketch, that is View2 and Section A-A. I created another section through the part and successfully retrieved the dimensions. See Section B-B.

Since this part has rib features, a section would typically be cut through one of the ribs to display the profile. A 1/4 section cut will not display the rib correctly.

Thanks for the info about dimensioning on parallel sections. I get that.

How about the fact that the tolerance on the bore dimension does not show correctly on the drawing? That's still a worry!

I'm not sure I am following you...

I replaced the 1/4 section cut A-A in the attached dwg with the 1/2 section cut B-B, and retrieved the dimensions. On the right side of the section you will see the underlined bore dimension of 22.220 +050/-.000. In the part, the parameters for dimension d4 show a value of 22.22mm, and the d4 dimension properties show a deviation tolerance of +.050/-.000mm. This matches the value displayed on the drawing.

Is this not what you are expecting to see?

If you are getting something different, can you post a screenshot?

    Thanks Bunny

That dimension does come up on the X-section. Still a puzzle that it does not on the Front Elevation ... however!

It does. However, for this view of the revolution, the retrieved dimensions come in parallel to the sketch plane, are stacked on top of each other and must be re-positioned. Also, you can only retrieve those dimensions that have not already been retrieved in another view.

The 2 attached screenshots show the dimensions immediately after retrieval and then re-positioned.

I could not open your 7-52 Step Cone Pulley.dwg file. Inventor keeps throwing up a "Could not open database" error.

    Thanks.
