Default modify space boundaries from linked model

    Greetings Folks,
I am wondering if there is a way to easily modify the boundaries of spaces created from a linked model.
We only ever work with linked architecture models, but often need to redefine the space boundaries we create and I can't figure out if there's a way to do so.
Sure would be nice to simply pick lines and create spaces of my own.....

    any ideas?

    thanks!

MEP Spaces are bounded by Rooms from the architectural model. You can add space separation lines to your model to divide spaces, but you can't use them to make spaces bigger. Can I ask why you're redefining space boundaries so often?

Thanks for getting back to me. We're finding that architects sometimes define rooms differently than how we need/want them to be defined for calculations (for instance, they may break up a corridor into smaller chunks whereas we would prefer it to be contiguous). With the current limitations in Revit when working with linked models, we have to ask the architects to redefine the rooms in their models, which sometimes isn't an option.

Rather than spaces, I think you could use HVAC Zones as the basis for your calcs if you wanted to do so. Being primarily an electrical guy, I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I know our mechanical team uses them, because I have to turn their visibility off in my sections/elevations all the time.
