    Default conduit elevation problems

i am annotating my model for field work. When I select the tag categories and choose bottom elevation conduit tag I am getting a height that does not match the "actual" height used when placing the conduit. All my conduit was place "to bottom".

    see the attached pdf.
As shown the conduit was placed at 12' 3 1/8" to the bottom of the conduit. measured in the sectional view it shows that measurement to the center of the conduit. On the plan view the tag shows the conduit at 12' 2 1/32" BOC.

I have checked this in another project and the problem is the same. If the conduit is placed "to center" the tag "to bottom" calculates correctly, but not when the conduit has been placed measuring "to bottom". It looks like the program just does not like placing conduit other than 'to center". Is this a general program glitch or just mine? Am I doing something wrong?

This measurement is critical. please help.

Revit will only allow you to place conduit by its center elevation.

You can set the justification to whatever you want PRIOR to modeling. Click the JUSTIFICATION button on the ribbon before you begin modeling. (works for ducts and pipes, too)

I was able to model a 4" conduit, bottom justified with a 4'-0" offset (although the offset in the properties shows 4'-2" - to the center of the conduit) and created a custom tag using the bottom elevation parameter and it worked fine for me. Dimensioning, on the other hand, went to the center of the conduit always.
