Default Array with Incrementaly Shorter Length?

I am building a Right Side Triangular Louver and want to add vanes depending on the height which I know you can do with an array tied to a count formula. But I want the vanes to get shorter as they are added so they match the angle of the triangle slope. This slope changes depending on the length. I can get this to work with individual vanes but that way doesn't add/subtract new vanes as the height changes. Is this even possible in the family building environment so that it is parametric?

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Nathan

There's really no good way to do that. The best you could do is to create an Array Group from an Extrusion (not a nested Family), and then create a Void Extrusion to follow the cut angle and cut away the unwanted lengths of each member of the Array. This may bolster the file size. In addition, you must design the Family at the maximum possible size (and leave it at those settings or keep it as the current Type) because after you have cut the Array members with the Void, if you decrease the number of Array items, the association (the cut) will be lost (in the Family Editor only). However, once it's in the Project environment, you will be able to reduce/increase its size without losing the associativity.

Thanks Corey. I will play with that idea. I tried doing what you suggested and ran into errors (in the family environment).

    Corey,
I built the Louver as you suggested, but it doesn't flex in the length when loaded in the project. I used a flip symbol in the family and when the family is flipped in the project it takes on the correct length. When flipped back to the original orientation it screws up the length again. Any ideas?

In the Family Editor, I changed the Length to any other value (I used 10') and receive a "Constraints not Satisfied" error. I chose to remove the constraints and set the Length back to 20', and then reloaded it into the Project; it appeared to work then. I didn't delve deeply into it, so I do not know what Constraint was broken, but the Family appears to function correctly to me.
