Default Restore UCS North to pointing up.

    Hi All,

This may be a simple question, but:

I am working on a drawing that was converted to a .dwg file for use in AutoCAD 2014. The Y/X coordinates are pointing on an angle, thus pointing north to that angle. I would like to restore north so the view is pointing "up" in Model Space. What combination of commands would do that?

    Thanks

Is the world coordinate system current, or a user coordinate system? If the former, the PLAN command will get you there.

Yes, to add to that, if the latter and it is a UCS (user coordinate system) and the "Y" axis is pointing to your desired north, PLAN will get you there too.

Is this a civil project where the cad work is oriented to a global coordinate systyem in Model Space?
The reason I ask is sometimes you need to be careful if Civil designers need to work on this, sometimes changing the WCS to a UCS can cause them problems if they don't know about it.

    Thank you for your reply.

No, Not a civil Engineer Project. Thanks for the heads up. My drawings are used for display purposes only, not surveys.

The Orientation just changed by itself for me. I had UCSFollow on and created a hatch, and the view changed to due north. Done.

I still don't know how to do it so I will need to practice UCS commands.

    Thank you for your help.
