    Default *.shx Shape or Font?

    Hi gang,

I've been given a folder of shx files. Some are fonts, some are shape files.

Any way to quickly ascertain which are which?

    Thanks as always,

    -JP

AutoCAD knows the difference I believe. Only the fonts from the Support Search Path will show in the Text Style dialog box. Of course if you had the *.shp files in that folder as well it would be a lot easier. You could use guthrie's SHXConvert 4.0 to convert them.

Yes, because if Autodesk detects a shape file instead of a font file when opening the drawing, you will get the message "xxxxx is a shape file, not a text font file."
