    Default Inherited project

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I've recently inherited a project from a previous employee with whom I am not in contact with. The project is a multifamily development of about 335 units on 5 different buildings. There are about 5 general unit types with a few species of each type. the project was developed as follows: unit module >Building module > site module (where > = linked). The previous employee has schedule on the site plan that is supposed to correspond to the unit types on the site.

I cannot determine how this employee has scheduled the unit count onto the site plan. Is there some verbiage or nomenclature that may help me determine how he has this set up? Also, how might I set a new unit schedule if the employee's methodology cannot be determined or replicated?

    Appreciation in advance!

    Hi,

There are as many ways to do this, as there are Revit users out there, so it's extremely difficult question to answer without seeing the schedule.

To establish what kind of schedule has been used, go to the site plan sheet, right click on the schedule and select Edit Schedule.
In the schedule view properties go to Fields > Edit...
In the Schedule Properties window in the bottom left-hand corner you'll see "Select available fields from:" -if there are Rooms then it's a room schedule if Areas....
If there is a box ticked - "Include elements in links" then the scheduled Rooms/Areas are located in the linked files.
In the same windows, you'll have the fields, that have been used in the schedule to gather the information from the Areas/Rooms in your project.

    Hope this helps,

    Maciej
