    Default Precision

I am new to Civil 3d, actually it's my 2nd day. I am trying to change to precision for distances and bearings to 2 decimal places for distance and to the nearest seconds for bearings.
I've searched and searched and cannot find where that setting is located in the toolspace settings tab in lable styles.

    Robert,

Right-click your active drawing name in the Settings tab of the Prospector, and select 'Edit Drawing Settings'. Under the 'Ambient Settings' tab you will find a host of options for setting various precisions and other preferences, including those for 'Distance' and 'Direction'.

    HTH.

First check to make sure you're using the standard template for your office. It should be set in there along with a million other things you shouldn't need to worry about on your second day.

On the Toolspace Settings tab double-click Label Styles » Line » Bering and Distance
    Under Component name: select 'Bering'
Pick the Value for Text Contents, then pick … box
Select <[General Segment Length(Uft|P3|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sn|OF)]> in the window on the right to Highlight it.
    Change the Precision to 0.01
Pick the right arrow button to replace the values in the window on the right
Select <[General Segment Direction(Udeg|FDMSdSp|P6|RN|DSn|CU|OF|AP|MB)]> in the window to Highlight it.
Change the Precision to 1 second
Pick the right arrow button to replace the values in the window on the right
    Click OK
    Click Apply
    Click OK

Only affects that one Label Style

Thanks guys, that really helped. Is there a site I can do some hands on training to learn more about styles and civil 3d in general?

    Start with Civil 3D help.
    Other suggestions:

Search YouTube for AutoCAD & Civil 3D then add Autodesk, CiviEssentials and whatever looks helpful to your YouTube Subscriptions.
