    Default SSM with M-Files DMS

    Hey all,

This is a long shot but I was hoping someone may know the answer to this.
I use AutoCAD with a document management system called M-Files which is great but I can't set up a SSM with files in the DMS. It basically crashes ACAD when the search for sheets begins.
I assume this is something to do with the file structure or maybe the meta data, has anyone else had this issue using M-Files or similar file systems?

    Many thanks

Based on the description of the DMS on their web site, I would not expect SSM to at all compatible with M-Files. SSM is designed/built for use with a standards windows file system -- M-files eschews that for a completely different organizational scheme to store and retrieve files.

I would tend to think that the only way you'll get similar functionality to SSM is by M-Files (or some 3rd party developer) writing an equivalent.

    Makes sense, thank you.
I do have the Vault but at the moment only use it for Inventor files, I guess I will start using it for dwg files requiring SSM.

    Thanks again
