    Default Line Type file

    I have a few custom line styles now. I can load them with no issue for a day or two then at some point later when trying to load .lin I am getting "bad definition" on (5) different line styles, (4) of which have never been modified and (2) of them are at the bottom of the .lin file. In other words (20+/-) line styles are staying good. Has any body had any issue like this that can give me some insight?

    If you attach the lin file or Wrap [Code] tags around it and paste it here we could probably point you in the right direction.

    Tom,

    I have identified what the issue is. I could use some guidance in properly addressing it though.

    I am having the issue with "ltypeshp.shx". I don't know why its not in appropriate reference directory anymore so I am wondering if after the search on C: Can I just copy it and paste it to the correct support file?

    I would make sure that "ltypeshp.shx" is in your search path... and that only ONE version exists in all of those paths. Sounds like your autocad may be looking at different versions of the .shx file at different times.

    There is a "ltypeshp.shx" in the support directory. I am sure that's the issue though because the only 5 lines it shows up in are the 5 "bad definitions"

    First will any of the complex linetypes that come with AutoCAD load?
    Code:
     ;; These linetype definitions use LTYPESHP.SHX.
    ;;
    *FENCELINE1,Fenceline circle ----0-----0----0-----0----0-----0--
    A,.25,-.1,[CIRC1,ltypeshp.shx,x=-.1,s=.1],-.1,1
    *FENCELINE2,Fenceline square ----[]-----[]----[]-----[]----[]---
    A,.25,-.1,[BOX,ltypeshp.shx,x=-.1,s=.1],-.1,1
    *TRACKS,Tracks -|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-
    A,.15,[TRACK1,ltypeshp.shx,s=.25],.15
    They use ltypeshp.shx so if any of them load the problem isn't ltypeshp.shx.

    No, These are the ones that will not load. The only 5 bad definitions are the only 5 using ltypeshp.shx
