Question "Empty System Panel" - edit or start from scratch

Is it possible to edit or start from scratch the family "Empty System Panel" contained within the Autodesk standard templates under the "Curtain Panels" category?
We have a template which we started from the "none template" and the family above is not included in it as a system family. Can we do the above or I will have to copy the family "Empty System Panel" across from another template?

I'm not sure I understand the issue. An 'empty' system panel is just that, a curtain panel family that contains no geometry. You can just copy/paste it into your template from another project that still has it.

Or....just reload it from the library...it's technically not a system family...

    Thanks for the replies above!
I know it can be simply created/ loaded but what I find weird is that the edit option (rename, delete.. also) is not available when you right click the family when using an Autodesk template which had the family pre-loaded.
I just transferred it and we are moving on with that but I just wanted to understand the reason for the edit family not being available as if it was a system family.

There is a difference between Empty Panel and Empty System Panel. The latter can be affected by using Edit Profile on the curtain wall. Only system panels can be altered to have an angled side or other than rectangular. If you attempt to use Empty Panel (loadable family) you will find Revit will delete it if you use Edit Profile and the changes made affect the shape of the panel too.

You have to copy/paste Empty System Panel from a project that has one to one that doesn't. You can load Empty Panel from the library.
