Default Is this form possible to create in Revit?

    Hello everyone!

I've been trying to create this form (picture attached) in a conceptual mass family for a few days now, but not been successfull yet. I'm starting to wonder if it is possible to do in Revit at all. I'm new to creating free form shapes and don't know what the possibilities really are.

So far I have tried making a row of plines and created a surface with points that I can stretch to different directions. But the base of the cones don't become round but irregular in shape.

Is there another way to go around with this? I really would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Honestly, this kind of free-form surface may be best modeled in another program and imported to Revit either as a surface or as discrete panels. Even in Rhino, this is difficult. My intuition is that you should create this as a deformed mesh with the density of the mesh corresponding to the panelization scheme. If you have access to Rhino, you could try the free version Evolute to optimize. Then consider importing the panels as Adaptive Components with Chameleon or another Grasshopper/Rhino plugin. That's a pretty long way around and doesn't answer your question directly, but if I were attempting this form, I'd personal not attempt it in the Revit Conceptual Massing.

Well, there is good information already on the image that I posted. Create those green splines as flat lines, with several points each, and then do Create Form. Then move the points up or down to create the curved surface. Then create those circles as reference arcs (two halves for each circle), and then do Create Form. I used two arcs because those shapes are hollow. I remember that I also used "follow surface" so that these arcs are always on the curved surface. You also need a couple of void cylinders to cut a hole on the surface. I hope this helps.
