Default Revit MEP - 'Systems' Tab & Families

Apparently, Revit will not allow me to create RVAs that include MEP systems (i.e. pipes from the 'Systems' Tab). Therefore, I made .rvt files that include all of the piping and fixtures that I want for my fire/sprinkler room and toilet templates. Unfortunately, now I cannot copy/paste my .rvt fire/sprinkler equipment into my building model.

    1. Is there a way to include MEP systems (i.e. anything form the 'Systems' tab) into a family?
    2. How do you copy/import/whatever one .rvt file into another? Is this even possible?

    Thanks!

Use Manage ribbon tab > Settings Panel > Transfer Project Standards tool to transfer non-loadable family settings from one project file to another.
