    Default AutoDesk Infrastructure Modeler

I couldn't find a forum specifically for this program and since its linked to Civil3d in Autodesks' suite I figure I will post my question here. Please move to the correct forum if one exists.

I am trying to open the Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler 2013 vR2, Whenever I try and open from either the shortcut or the start menu I get the following error message:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

I cannot get the modeler to work or even open. I CAN get the Infrastructure Administrator to open, but it doesn't help me much.

    Running windows 7 on a x64 machine.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Greg-

I don't believe that this is an issue with AIM, a quick Google Search for "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer" came up with 370,000 hits. You may find your answer in one of those. Good luck!

Actually, this is happening on more than one computer - and most if not all of those are for hyperlinks about not opening in Outlook.

I have seen those posts about Chrome, never had it installed....
Seen the ones about Explorer not being default - it is and has always been.
    My hyperlinks work in Outlook......

Any other suggestions other than trying looking on Google? That was the first place I looked.

    Thank you,

I'm going to move this from the C3D forum over to the Software forum, just to get more eyes on it.

Are you running the program from a windows account which has administrative privileges?

I have admin privileges, as well as our IT guy logged into my machine to try under his admin rights and got the same error messages.

I was able to resolve this issue by going into my registry and editing out the following key for AIM. For some reason - it was set to not allow it to run, and changing the variable to zero solved the issue. Never had anything to do with Google or Chrome - just some setting for some reason that needed changed.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun

Hope this helps anyone else with this issue.
