Question appearance profiler not applying color to selection

I'm trying to use the appearance profiler to change colors of objects in an NWC export file.
For some reason that I don't understand, only some of the selections have the changes applied.
I test the seach in the search sets window as well as in the appearance profiler selector window, so I see that the objects are included, but the changes are only being applied to some of the sets.
I've tried changing the criteria to select them in a different way but the same objects remain unchanged. They still get selected, but not changed.
It is insulation that is not changing. If I hide the insulation, I see that the colors are applied to the pipes.

Is there any way to fix this? Or some thing to do with the settings in revit?

    thx
