Sorry I abandoned you. Busy week at the office. I'll get something to you shortly. Probably not exactly what you want but should do the trick.

Cant wait to see it thanks.
Rectangle Line Based Simple.rfa
Here is a simple version. I'm sure there is a way to do this with an adaptive component so it only requires two picks but I can't wrap my head around the trig at the moment.
This is a simple line based family with a second instance parameter for width.
My suggested workflow would be to click and place the first corner (bottom left always my preference) then click on the second corner along that same wall. The family will be the correct length but width will need to be adjusted after placement. Place a bunch of them and then use the align tool t quickly set the width parameter.
As I said, not your ideal solution but it's the weekend and my brain appears to be in neutral.
I'll see if I can come up with a true two pick solution.
I did this in 2104 in case you aren't using 2015.
Thanks
But file not for Revit 2012 is that right?
Cant open it in 2012
Regards
Sorry. Out of luck. I don't think I even have 2012 loaded on any of the machines in our office.
I'ts not that complicated to reproduce. I'll see if I can get a simple video together to show you how.
No need video just post me couple screen shots from parameters page.
All i want to know is maths and logic of it.
Regards
