In our office we are wondering how to indicate the heights of interior walls without having dozens of wall types. We know there are manual entry methods, but with a parametric object, that just doesn't make sense.

This question doesn't really make sense ? The wall height is an instance property. There should be no need to create different wall types and even if you did you can't control the height by a type property. You can however manage large quantities of wall heights through other means (using selection filters for one) and the instance parameters of the wall.
The question makes sense in that architects typically use some method of designation to tell a contractor whether a wall is to be installed to the ceiling, 6" above the ceiling or to the structure above. In one office, we're using a wall tag that has different types for the different wall heights. The types are not tied to the modeled height of the wall, but it allows us to minimize the actual model wall types to their basic construction and use the tag types to clarify the wall heights.
I've worked on a project in ACA that we had 30 different wall type designations - and a very complex, manual, wall type table - it was dreadful!
New in 2015, you can schedule wall heights. I don't think that information can appear in a tag, though.
cadclips, Your response is a non sequitur. Please re-read the question. I would appreciate any helpful information you can provide. Thanks.
