The number of dividers is not the problem it is the array in elevation/section will always be the length of the "Array Length" in the family when it was loaded. I have now put two lines in the plan that match up with the shelf lines so it virtually disappears in plan. I can dimension that in plan and they all show up properly. In elevation/section I can see the dividers and if I dimension them they are always what the Array Length is in the family that was loaded last. You can try something to see what I mean.
Pun in a family with a 6 on the end of it, that means a 60" shelf, several dividers.
Check the distance of the array in elevation/section.
open the family and change the Shelf Length to 24"
Reload the family - just load into project - skip the catalog
check the dimension of the array in elevation and it will be 12"

I should say that our projects are not in feet and inches. Set your project to Fractional Inches before you run this test.

I am on the same build here David.

Just for kicks - I set the same family up in 2014. Using the same txt file it works in 2014.

OK, I had just loaded the family directly the first time, and did not have any of the types from the type catalog. My mistake.

Is there a reason why your widths are set up to be instance-based properties? If you have a type catalog that drives the values, I would think you would want them to be type-based. I did not have any better luck with type-based properties, however. In a project, the line in the plan view changes to the proper length, but the array in the elevation remains stuck at 24". It flexes properly in the family. I have to get back to my other job, but I will try to circle back to this later.

I have tried my widths both instance and type. I would be happy if changing that was what it took.
