Default Using Arch 2d DWG files (from vectorworks) as RVT backgrounds for Structural Design?

I work for a strucural engineering office.
In my office we have just recently switched over to using Revit 100% for our new projects.

I am used to getting ARCH RVT files that I link into my projects and use the live monitor tools to follow changes and as a 3d background file.

The project I am starting now is a 4 story multi-unit Residential building and the Architect is using Vectorworks 2d to created there package.

I am starting to think that since I am receiving the files in a 2D format that going back to using Autocad to create my drawings will be a smoother route than using revit and linking in the 2d's.

Any advice on this subject is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Emmett

    God no lol
Just link the DWG on each level and draw over. You won't have the benefits of a 3D coordination but you can still do the good old fashion way ... without having to redraw elevations and sections

Stay in Revit. As dhurtubise said, you can link to each level and use that as your background. It just seems strange that you say your firm has switched over to 100% Revit, but the first project that you have to link some autocad files you want to give up and go back to AutoCAD?
