Incomplete/inconsitent shadows within views

Hi,

We are doing a shadow study for a presentation. We have generated a building design within our main model. We have made a separate topographical model in another Revit project file and linked into our main model. Then, we built simple models of the surrounding houses out of extrusions in a Revit family and then brought that as a family into our main model. The buildings are appropriately at various heights (due to a rolling geography).

We are unable to get our shadows to consistently happen across our views. For instance, in our plan views at various times of the year, the shadows will be illustrated for part of the view but other parts of the view which should completely be in shadow are shown as having no shadow at all.

We went into our sun Settings and tried turning off and also adjusting the position of the Ground Plane at Level. This has an effect but has not fixed the problem. We also have adjusted the ground level within the surrounding buildings family but that has had no effect.

We'd greatly appreciate your help with resolving this issue as we need to submit our presentation to the client and the town. Please see the attached images; you can see the shadows get "horizontalized" at some odd ground plane above the bottom of the topography.

Hi,

I think I was able to fix this by aligning the Project Point Coordinates in both the Revit model file and the Revit topo file I had linked in. The Project Point Coordinates in the topo file were way off from the position of the Project Point Coordinates in the main model. After I moved them to be in the same place, the shadows began to behave properly.
